Buena Vista, Aug. 7-Hiter Webster Coffey, 74, former post master at Alto, Amherst County, and well known merchant and former of that community, died at his home Wednesday. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Higginbotham Coffey and 11 children: Mrs. H. W. Davis and Hiter R. Coffey, of Lincoln Park, Mich.; Lyle W. Coffey and Mrs. Frank Humston, Roanoke; H. E. Coffey, Farmville; Mrs. C. R. Carr, Richwood, W. Va.; Mrs. L. O. Coffey, Alto; Mrs. L. K. Ray, and Wiley B. Coffey, Waynesboro; Mrs. Lewis Keith, Agricola and a sister, Mrs. J. W. Crist, Lynchburg. Funeral rites will be held at 3 P.M. Friday at the Macedonia Methodist Church at Alto. Burial will be at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista.
