She was the wife of the late Emmett Lewis Sale. Born April 4, 1907, in Amherst County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Virginia Davis Coffey. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Elmer Wayne Sale, one grandchild, Miss Cheryl Ann Leckey, one great-grandchildren, Bertram Lewis Limbrick, two sons-in-law, William Carter, Jr. and Shelly Leckey, five sisters and four brothers. Mrs. Sale was a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church in Vesuvius, Va., and a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was an active member and Past President of Pedlar Valley Garden Club and a member of the Pedlar Home Demonstration Club. She is survived by one son, Hiram Lewis Sale and his wife, Louise, of Glasgow; four daughters, Evelyn Sale Carter of Buena Vista, Helen Sale Leckey of Madison Heights, Teeny Sale Brockman and her husband, Lewis Barnes Brockman, Sr., of Amherst, and Virginia Lee Sale of Monroe, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Hugh Bumgarner. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at Whitten Monelison Chapel, Madison Heights, Va.
