Coffey, 69, of Route 7, Lenoir, died this morning from a self-inflicted shotgun wound in the head. Caldwell County Coroner Claude Goble expressed to doubt that the death was a suicide. Coffey was a sawmiller until ill health forced his retirement. He and his wife, Mrs. Neely Moretz Coffey, had made their home with a son, Clarence A. Coffey, for over a year. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Pisgah Church.
